Why DEBBIE G.? She started using "DEBBIE G." as her stage name several years ago. Most people do not pronounce her last name (Garibay) correctly and "DEBBIE G." is usually easy for most folks to pronounce!  If you would like to hear how to pronounce her last name, click here... (LAST NAME)

DEBBIE G. is happily married to her best friend Perry and thinks he is the greatest thing since sliced bread.  Perry co-produced and played guitar on the album.  Their love of music and working on the album project is what brought them together.  They began dating in May 2000 and were married on December 1st, 2001.  Little did she know that when she wrote "I Do" it would later be used for the first dance with Perry at their wedding reception.  Even though they have been married for years, many folks still mistake them for newlyweds!

She has two Min Pins - Spanky and Vinny.  Spanky (black one) has a great personality - she's lovable and very playful.  Vinny (brown one) is...well, Vinny is Vinny.  He's not as gifted as Spanky...he doesn't seem to learn too quickly - it took him 1 year to respond to his name...

DEBBIE G. began singing at a very early age and never stopped!  From school and community talent shows, she never missed opportunities to sing.

At age 3, this is DEBBIE G. singing the theme song to Gilligan's Island... or at least something close to it!

Although music was her passion, DEBBIE G. attended college at Purdue University Calumet and earned her B.A. in Industrial Psychology in December of 1990.  She managed to get her B.A. in 3 1/2 years by passing out of 9 credits of Spanish, taking summer classes, and carrying anywhere from 15-21 credit hours a semester.

.
In February of 1991, she moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, to work and anxiously test her wings as a "grown-up."  She was employed by AT&T Consumer Products and Thomson Consumer Electronics in User Interface Design.

Her music patiently simmered on the back burner.  After 5 years, she left the corporate scene and became self-employed selling real estate with Century 21.  Her work schedules left her time for a couple of bands.  Although she enjoyed performing as lead singer for bands, she wanted to figure out how to break away and go solo.  Without a band and not knowing how to play guitar or keyboards, she resorted to karaoke for back-up music.  Soon karaoke became boring waiting her turn to sing 2 songs in 4 hours...

Two and 1/2 seconds of fame!............................Supportive Friends!
.

As time passed, she realized that if she didn't pursue her music much more aggressively she would regret it for the rest of her life.  With that, she took on part-time miscellaneous jobs.  These part-time jobs along with savings and personal sacrifice allowed her to focus most of her time on music.  Her entire life she has dreamed of sharing her voice with the world...now DEBBIE G. is making her dream a reality.
